Johnny Cash with June Carter, Carl Perkins, The Statler Brothers
Bob Wootton's 71/2" reel tape -> ? -> CD-R (x) -> FLAC -> fre:ac -> MP3 VBR 256-320
This recording comes from a 7 « reel tape, that once belonged to Bob Wootton. It is likely that Carl Perkins' and the Carters' sets, along with the first couple of Cash's songs exist on another reel. The source tape is probably not the master.
1 and 16 are cut. The tape begins at the end of 1 and side one runs out during 16. I have left the tracks in the grouping they had on the CD-R to avoid the circulation of different versions. Feel free to split them by yourself.
This recording obviously is the "first transfer", because it doesn't have the dropout. The sound is nonetheless great for a Cash show from that time, it's a typical SBD sound with very distinct vocals and low audience level. All in all a fantastic performance, with Johnny in perfect shape. He does his best to deliver what is one of his top vocal performances.
