The last full show with all original members. (They did do one song at a Slade fan convention 25th anniversary party in 1991.) If you are a Slade fan, this is a must-have.
Big in the UK as a glam band, Slade’s attempt to find success in the US in the ’70s and again in the ’80s didn’t quite work out despite ’80s hits such as My Oh My and Run Runaway. The wiki added that a tour with Ozzy Osbourne was cancelled after a couple of warm up gigs, when bassist Jim Lea collapsed in the dressing room after a performance. He was later diagnosed with Hepatitis C. The band returned to the UK and did not tour again, mainly due to differences within the band and problems in Holder’s private life. The original lineup split up in 1992 but the band reformed the following year as Slade II. The band has continued, with a number of line-up changes, to the present day. They have now shortened the group name back to Slade.
