Live at The Warehouse - New Orleans, Louisiana - January 30th, 1970

This show show probably be included as one of the best recorded examples of Fleetwood Mac circa 1970, at least in an unofficial format. The sound quality is generally a very good soundboard source, claimed to be taken from a 1st generation cassette that was recorded directly from the master source. It is unknown what format the master source of the recording actually is/was, but given the time period, it would have to be some sort of tape. Whether it is a cassette or a higher resolution reel to reel recording is unknown.

Nevertheless, when the performance begins, there seems to be a serious mix problem that is more than likely due to a problem with  the original mix as opposed to mechanical flaws due to tape deterioration and/or transfer. If you listen carefully to before the performance while the band is tuning you can here them mention possible problems with the microphones. Although many parts of the recording have unbalanced channel problems, the more significant apparent mix problems, resulting in inaudible vocals at times, seem to subside after the first song.  The first track from the source recording, thus, has been heavily edited to create a more reasonable level for the vocal, panned mostly to one side, in comparison with the rest of the recording.

The other tracks have also had amplitude adjustments but to a much lighter degree. Generally the rest of the recording was much too quiet in one channel and was subsequently amplified to a more audible level. I have also made some edits to get rid of loud pops and clicks that plague small sections of the recording. These edits were made very specifically to minute sections of the recording and have no audible effect on the recording other than to eliminate loud interruptions created by unwanted tape anomalies. I also adjusted the frequency response of the recording, eliminating apparent tape noise in the lower mid frequency range as well as bringing more clarity to the recording in the upper frequency range of the source. I seperated the Introduction/Tuning & Before the Beginning sections from the first track on the source recording into two tracks simply for ease of reference. The rest of the tracks have also been adjusted so the dead noise and applause at the end of songs is at the end of each track instead of at the beginning of the next track. I would normally leave it but some of the tracks from the source recording had up to a minute of basically dead air and/or applause before the song starts!
